BMW Diverter Valve - Used The diverter valve allows the smog pump to constantly pump air. At high RPM's the valve opens and sends air to the exhaust manifold. |
|   |
BMW Diverter Valve Bracket - Used This is the bracket the diverter valve mounts to. |
|   |
BMW EGR Counter - Used This is located under the hood on the drivers side in between the speedo cables. The purpose of the EGR counter is as a service interval switch. It tracks the milageon the EGR counter and tells you when to replace it. |
|   |
BMW EGR Filter - Used The EGR filter removes harmful deposits from the exhaust gases before those gases enter the intake manifold. |
|   |
BMW EGR Filter Bracket - Used These are the brackets that the EGR filter mounts to. |
|   |
BMW EGR Flex Tube - Used This is the stainless steel hose that connects the EGR filter to the exhaust manifold/thermal reactor. |
|   |
BMW EGR Valve - Used Controls the air from smog pump being pumped into exhaust manifold. Found on or near the exhaust manifold. |
|   |
BMW EGR Valve Bracket - Used This is the mounting bracket for the EGR valve. |
|   |
BMW EGR Valve Feed Pipe - Used This is the short hard line from the EGR valve into the intake manifold on a "Big 6" engine. |
|   |
BMW Electro Change Valve(s) - Used These are the dashpots located somewhere in the engine bay, sometimes on the fire wall, sometimes on the fender well. The valve(s) will have colored vacuum lines running to them. When there is more than one valve the valve will be color coded.
The purpose of these valve is to allow vacuum to diferent pieces of smog equipment at various times. The electro valves are controled by the Smog Speed Switch Relay. |
|   |
BMW Non-return Valve - Used This is the disc between the exhaust manifold and the diverter valve. It is a one-way valve that keeps exhaust from going into the diverter valve. |
|   |
BMW Non-return Valve Pipe - Used This is the metal pipe that connects the non-return valve to the exhaust manifold. |
|   |
BMW Pressure Converter Dashpot - Used This is the gray plastic valve/dashpot located on the fire wall with the red, white and blue vacuum lines going to it. The pressure converter activates the second stage of the EGR valve, allowing more air into the intake manifold from the exhaust manifold. |
|   |
BMW Pump - Used The smog pump pumps air into the exhaust manifold to allow the the exhaust gases to burn up more efficiantly. Older cars use a mechanical pump mounted on the engine and driven by a belt. Newer cars use an electric pump mounted on the wheel house. |
|   |
BMW Pump Air Cleaner - Used This is the air cleaner for the air that the smog pump is sucking in. |
|   |
BMW Pump Bracket - Used These are the brackets that support the smog pump. |
|   |
BMW Pump Pulley - Used This is the pulley that bolts to the front of a mechanical smog pump. |
